Warming Virginia's heart..one coat at a time

The “Warming Virginia’s Heart….one coat at time” initiative will provide winter items such as coats, hats, and gloves to students in the Roanoke Valley.

Pack-A-Sack

This is a community outreach program designed to help address chronic hunger among elementary age children in public schools.  We will work with designated schools to provide nutrional packed bags to be distributed once per month. Eventually we would like to provide packed bags 4x per month.
Bright Beginnings Re-entry Program

It is difficult adjusting to life after incarceration. In many cases, individuals lack  necessities and resources. Our program is designed to provide basic needs such as hygiene products, bus passes, socks, resume samples, and a list of temp agencies. We hope this small gesture would give the individual strength and motivation to become a productive member of society.

Fit for the Future

G.O.D.S Foundation has teamed up with Westside Elementary to provide athletic shoes for students. Our Fit for the Future program will provide the school with dozens of sneakers. This will ensure all students will have the proper attire to participate in gym class. Our goal is to implement a similar program throughout several elementary schools in the Roanoke Valley.

Fit For the Future will also
•    Raise awareness about childhood obesity in our community
•    Promote healthy eating and physical activity in children through culturally relevant social marketing interventions that are designed to affect behavioral changes
•    Send inactive children to summer camps that promote physical activity as well as overall development

Christmas Giveback

We like to spread cheer to the families that are most in need.
During this event, we team up with UBU Gospel Entertainment to provide toys, clothes, and shoes to children in the community.
Back to School

Back  to school is a stressful time for everyone. However, it can be extremely difficult for parents that are already struggling financially. The back to school event is designed to alleviate some of the stress by providing book-bags, notebooks, pens, paper, etc.
This is a great way for us to ensure children have the tools they need to succeed.
